CREATIVE APPLICATIONS OF CONCATENATIVE SOUND SYNTHESIS
Ben Hackbarth (PhD candidate UCSD Music) will present an overview of the aesthetic ideas behind AudioGuide, a software for concatenative sound synthesis written in Python and realized in collaboration with Norbert Schnell and Diemo Schwartz at l'Institut de Recherche et Coordination Acoustique/Musique (IRCAM). Ben will discuss several technical aspects of the concatenative algorithm as well as the manner in which he is currently integrating the program into his artistic practice.

COLLABORATIVE AUDIO PROJECTS: CALIT2 SONIC ARTS/KAUST VISUALIZATION LAB
Zachary Seldess is the Audio Systems Developer and Coordinator at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology. He will present on current collaborations with CRCA/Calit2's Sonic Arts Research Group including: "Tahakum Framework: jointly developed audio-systems control tools" and "Sonnotate: large-scale image sound 'annotation' and sonification project" as well as recent work with microphone and speaker arrays.
